What is UbiVia?

UbiVia, which is downloaded and installed on smartphones, allows users at both ends of the conversation to read what the other types in near real-time, on a split-screen display.

This results in live real-time and simultaneous conversations, eliminating the need to take turns talking or waiting for a response from the other person.

This new form of communication is faster than instant messaging (IM) or SMS.

Is UbiVia available now?

Beta testing of the new product was launched at the National Association of the Deaf (NAD) conference in Philadelphia in July, and will be offered exclusively to BlackBerry smartphone users to start.

UbiVia will run on BlackBerry smartphones available through all four major carriers in the United States – AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon.

When will UbiVia be available?

UbiVia is still under development. sComm hopes to release it to the market soon.

Where will UbiVia be available?

UbiVia will initially be available only in the United States. Future plans will include countries outside the U.S.

What are the requirements for UbiVia?

You will need to reside in the United States and have a BlackBerry smartphone with a data plan.
